People wonder about the date 2012, which came from the Mayan calendar. Attached to this creation of this calendar was a winged serpent named Quetzalcoatyl, who was part man, part god. He is also expected to return. Will 2012 be the date?

This is not true only God knows when the world will end. Ive looked up the mayans and it said that they lived in 2,000B.C. and that calendar is supposed to end in 2012 which is 2012 years so if the Mayans lived in 2,000B.C. then because when you reach a.d. you count down if its 2,000 b.c. then that calendar should have ended in 12 a.d. but we live in 2009 A.d. and were still here

A question about calanders for you all that believe just because the Mayan Calander ends = the end of the world… does it end when your yearly calander end? We know that after December 31st of every year, there is a January 1st. Their calander is cyclic, when it ends, it starts over.

What’s really cool about this 2012 hoax is it really shows up the dumb. Anyone could check this out for themselves, but believers never do. The Mayan calender doesn’t end in 2012, it continues for thousands of years beyond that date. The last bh’aktun, or long count before 2012 was in 1618, no upheavals then. People who swallow this mythical bullshit never bother to check, they just dumbly believe, and don’t care if they’re wrong. My prediction is all these crap vids will vanish on 22/12/2012.

We are NOT passing through the Galactic plane at that time – it happens in another 30 million years – do some research. Does anyone actually believe that we could be within 2 years of passing though the galactic plane and nothing would happen till the day we actually cross it? We cross it every 33 million years as the solar system “wobbles” above and below the plane of the galaxy..we last crossed it about 3 million years ago heading “north” (for want of a better description).

Im pretty sure that with our space telescopes that can see a fucking long distance, plus the advantage of space exploration, we could have spotted whatever they saw. Plus we have people observing the sky/space all the time too, and with the tech we have its unlikely they saw something we cant.
We can predict eclipses but we can’t predict earthquakes. Some things we can predict and others we can’t. So what exactly makes you think that the end of the world is necessarily one of those things we can’t predict? Why? Is it because eclipses don’t hurt you and earthquakes do? Astronomical kinematics are not chaotic like the weather. They are predictable. And one day, they may kill you.
